Cloistered on an island for a writers' retreat when cyclonic conditions arise, one woman is powerfully affected by the forces of nature, and by the unsettling presences she senses around her.
Mishka, a musician, is urged to leave New York after one of his friends appears on the front page of the Boston Globe as a terrorist suspect. Before leaving, Mishka returns to a sound booth at the Harvard music lab where he works and, while there, he reminisces on his early childhood spent with extended family in the crazy house his grandfather built in the Daintree.
