Dennis Altman suggests that Australia might afford better recognition of its writers by placing their images on postage stamps. He points out that Patrick White is, he suspects, the only Australian Nobel laureate not be represented on a stamp.
Christina Hill's review of Noni Durack's Beyond the Legend claimed it was Durack's first novel. Durack sets the record straight - her first novel was The Interloper (1961).
