BiographyHistory

Noni Durack attended Sydney University before working as a journalist and teacher. Relocating from Sydney to the Northern Territory, Durack spent three years living in the gulf country then moved to Toowoomba in 1952.

The period Durack spent in the Northern Territory was to substantially influence her writing as many of this author's short stories and plays are based on her experience of the outback.
