AbstractHistoryArchive Description

This novel depicts life in a small hamlet in My Tho province from the war period to the return of overseas Vietnamese who were once boat people (from the early 1970s to 1990s). The novel points out the negative sides of administrative systems and people whose greed and ambitions destroyed their own lives.
