  • The title Phylakto refers to the talisman the main character, Terpsichore or Terrie, wears around her neck.
  • This story won first prize in the English section of a 1986 short story competition organised by the Greek-Australian Cultural League of Melbourne and the Modern Greek Teachers Association of Victoria.
