'From 21-22 July 2007, five words, The Heart of a Nation, will appear under the masthead to reflect the unique place occupied by The Australian and The Weekend Australian in the national culture. Caroline Overington reports that Michael Gawenda considered Michal Leunig became '"unhinged" by widespread claims his cartoons were anti-Semitic'. Gawenda's view is put in his autobiography American Notebook : A Personal and Political Journey (2007).
