'Everyone seems to have a dog except Alice's family, but eventually Dad gives in. At the Lost Dogs' Home there are no pedigree ones but a huge black dog that looks like a cross between a Chihuahua, a Boxer, a Poodle and a St Bernard adopts them and Alice decides he's a Galumpher.
