BiographyHistory

Australian rock band formed by Greg Macainsh in March 1973 after the dissolution of two previous Macainsh projects, Reuben Tice and Frame, both formed in Eltham and playing around the region. In an interview, Macainsh makes particular note of early shows with a fledgling Skyhooks at the Research Hall in the Eltham area which were some of the first shows where concertgoers began to notice them for their unique dress style, before they had even played a note of music.  Their first album Living in the 70s was a critical and commercial success. The band disbanded on 8 June 1980 but reformed in April 1983, October 1984 and in 1990 for limited concerts.
