When he offers to drive her home she is convinced he thinks she has tricked him into helping her.

At every perfomance he pours out his heart to her through his music, but she never seems to notice him. When Nina asks him to play for her when she dances for international ballet teacher, Madame Deschampes, he is torn. If he plays well Nina will be taken away from him forever.
