The story begins with the narrator wondering why his friend from Buenos Aires came to Australia, which he refers to as 'kangaroo land'. ['Yo no puedo evitar que a mi mente acuda la curiosidad de saber cuál fue el motivo que le trajo a cangura tierra' (p. 8).] The Argentian friend explains that he can't stand tango.
