Set in Sydney and Palestine in 1947, this novel continues the odyssey of Jacob Kaiser. At odds with post-war Australian society, Jacob yearns for the pioneering life in the emerging Jewish State of Israel. But Ruti, his childhood sweetheart, no longer shares such dreams. Eventually, someone very different joins Jacob in his search for fulfilment.
