University of Queensland Press (UQP) was founded in 1948 and 'has been in the forefront of innovative Australian publishing, whether it be scholarly works, or ground breaking general books. It has published most of the contemporary Australian poets, it has launched the careers of a galaxy of Australian novelists, it has pioneered young adult fiction publishing in Australia and has been a pathfinder in developing the writing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people. UQP has focused its scholarly monograph and journals publishing in the areas of Australian Literature, Australian Studies, Cultural and Media Studies and Australian History and Politics and is a world leader in these fields. It is ... also a regional publisher with a special interest in tropical and subtropical Australia and the Pacific region. From 2010, UQP will meet the challenges of a changing publishing landscape by releasing selected out-of-print titles in digital formats, in addition to the digital and print publishing of new books.'
