BiographyHistory

Founded in 1988 by Leonie Tyle, Robyn Sheahan and Robyn Collins, Jam Roll Press developed a powerful list of children's picture books and Young Adult fiction. It published its first book, Jenny Wagner's Message from Avalon in 1990. Renowned Jam Roll Press illustrators included Narelle Oliver and Gregory Rogers. In 1994, at Barbara Ker Wilson's suggestion, Jam Roll Press was acquired by UQP. Leonie Tyle went to UQP with Jam Roll as a children's editor and two years later she succeeded Barbara Ker Wilson as UQP's Children's Publisher.
