Author's note: The Iranian population consists of many ethnicities and although the majority of the population dwells in cities, several tribes occupy the fertile plains of western Iran. These colourful and lively tribes were as much affected by the 8 year Iran-Iraq war as the rest of the population. This poem reflects their losses.
