The idea of being the first in the field, or sea, originated during a conversation between Chas W. Heins and I. Asking if such a nautical magazinelette had ever been issued by any American amateur, and being assured in the negative, preparations were at once made to have Australia hold this honour.
The magazinelette comprises extracts from the Captain's Log, along with a selection of poems and prose pieces contributed by Stone, several members of the American Amateur Press Association, and writers from England and Australia.
