'We are continually receiving letters of thanks from public institutions, both in the colony and out of it, thanking us for the Cairns Post, and enquiring if any charge will be made. No charge will be made as we have made a rule for years to forward copies free to Chambers of Commerce, School of Arts, Hospitals &c., &c.'

Untitled, single work column
Forty eight children have applied to plant trees on Arbour Day on 1 August, but only twenty five trees can be obtained, therefore lots will have to be drawn. However, if any person can donate additional trees they will be included in the planting. The only expense to parents is four yards of six feet netting at 1s 6d per yard. All are welcome and anyone willing to contribute should contact Mr Slade.
