The writer calls on the residents of Cairns to overcome their apathy and establish a bathing area safe from crocodiles and sharks. He points out that hotel and store keepers should realise that swimming baths would make Cairns more popular amongst visitors and urges them to establish baths before the 'perspiring season'.
The joint proprietorship of The Cairns Post between Messrs Wimble and Wall will end when Mr Wall leaves for the South tonight. Mr Wall has also been an active participant in the Cricket and the Dramatic Clubs. The Dramatic Club will present him with a memento of their gratitude this afternoon.
