A committee meeting of the School of Arts on 3 February accepted W. H. Provan's tender to erect a building for three hundred and sixty pounds. The committee voted to raise a five hundred pound mortgage.
The annual meeting of the School of Arts was well attended, apparently because it was felt there was a need for a change of management. Mr Ransome, a former secretary, made a number of heated accusations, until he was subdued by one of the auditors and the elections proceeded. The writer provides a detailed explanation of a discrepancy in the accounts.
