Local Items, single work column
  • An amateur concert in aid of the Roman Catholic Church Building Fund is being planned. Several visiting vocalists have offered their services.
  • The School of Arts temporary reading room is open to subscribers. The American and European papers have not yet arrived, but there is a good selection of colonial publications. The room is an attractive resort for lovers of literature and is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • The application made by the School of Arts committee for the allotment next to the School of Arts reserve has been refused by the Minister of Lands.
