Detailed review of an amateur concert, presented in the Town Hall the previous Friday in aid of the St John's Church Building Fund. The reviewer describes the concert as the best ever performed in Cairns.

School of Arts, single work column
The first general meeting of the School of Arts subscribers was held last Monday. A nine-member committee has been elected, with Mr Chester as president and the Honorable G. W. Griffith as patron. Mr Wimble offered the use of a building in Lake Street for the committee to use until the School of Arts is erected. The offer was accepted.
