Herberton: The School of Arts committee has decided to install a stage measuring 45 feet by 16 feet. It will be used as a supper or banquet room and for performances, with the two ends serving as dressing rooms. In addition, the reading room will be considerably extended to allow for a large stock of new works expected to arrive shortly from England.

  • Mr A. Meston has announced he has severed his connection with the Cairns Chronicle and ceased as editor three weeks ago.
  • It is understood Mr A. Meston will stand as a candidate for Musgrave at the forthcoming election. The other candidates are Messrs W. P. Walker and F. T. Wimble.
