Herberton: The School of Arts committee has decided to install a stage measuring 45 feet by 16 feet. It will be used as a supper or banquet room and for performances, with the two ends serving as dressing rooms. In addition, the reading room will be considerably extended to allow for a large stock of new works expected to arrive shortly from England.
Mr A. Meston has announced he has severed his connection with the Cairns Chronicle and ceased as editor three weeks ago.
It is understood Mr A. Meston will stand as a candidate for Musgrave at the forthcoming election. The other candidates are Messrs W. P. Walker and F. T. Wimble.
