Reviews of several performances which were staged the previous Saturday evening.
Theatre Royal: Repeat performances of 'Rob Roy' and 'Warlock of the Glen' were well attended. A novelty was Mr W. M. Brown's appearance as the Dougal Creature.
A new theatrical regime begins this evening with Mr W. M. Brown becoming the sole lessee and manager, with Mr Hoskins continuing as stage manager. Admission prices are to be lowered and the theatre will open half an hour earlier, at 7.30 p.m.
Charlie Napier Theatre: Messrs Davies and Leith's circus has been fairly successful, especially on Saturday night. The scenes and performances in the circus are excellent. This evening the equestrienne, Miss Isabella Irwin, takes her benefit.
Criterion Concert Hall: The San Francisco Minstrels and Mr Percival continue to deliver varied performances and have been well received.
Star Concert Hall: A placard outside the hotel states Mrs Douglas has now walked 485 miles, about half her distance. To date she is in good heart and suffers little.
