Public Amusements, single work review

Reviews of several performances which were staged the previous Saturday evening.

Theatre Royal: The plays 'Gilderoy' and 'Bride of Lammermoor'

Charlie Napier Theatre: Equestrian and acrobatic performances by Messrs Davis & Leith's Circus Company.

The Criterion Saloon: The first appearance of the San Francisco Minstrels

Star Concert Hall: Mrs Douglas continued her 'tiresome feat', completing a mile on Saturday night in 14 minutes, 45 seconds. (The Star does not reveal what the tiresome feat actually was in this report, but subsequent reports suggest she was intending to walk approximately 1000 miles.)
