  • Contains brief biographical note accompanied by a full-page portrait of the English writer, Mrs George Thirkell (aka Angela Thirkell, q.v.), who lived in Australia from 1920-1929. (p. 30)
  • Includes a brief section discussing the recently published works by Winifred James (q.v.), 'the noted Australian writer, who as a girl set out for London with a few short stories in her pocket' and subsequently wrote the novel entitled, Bachelor Betty (1908). 'Her new works are two books of Belles Lettres, London Is My Lute, a collection of articles and essays...The second volume is, A Son for England, a charming tribute to the youth of our Empire.
