BiographyHistory

D. Lindsay Thompson, also known as Duncan, was the son of author Lilian Turner and the nephew of Ethel Turner (qq.v). He worked as a journalist with several Australian newspapers, including the Adelaide Advertiser and the Sydney Morning Herald where he was chief of staff and feature writer. Thompson wrote a history of the Smith Family charity titled For Humanity: 50 Years of the Smith Family (1973). Thompson attended Sydney Grammar and his children's fiction works are based around boys' boarding schools.
