The Monitor's editor reprints the report on the trial from the case of Rex vs E. S. Hall (previously published on 17 September 1827 under the title 'Before Mr Justice Stephen; and A. B. Spark and E. M. Scott Esqrs. Assessors). He then brings his readers up to date on the outcome of the trial and the decision of the Supreme Court, handed down on Monday, 31 April 1828: the two assessors brought in a special verdict of damages of one hundred pounds.
