This, the ninth in a series on pioneers and explorers, tells of John McDouall Stuart's expeditions from Adelaide to Northern Australia. His final expedition marked the route for the Overland Telegraph Line which linked Adelaide with the rest of the world. Stuart had suffered such hardships during his explorations that his health was broken and his eyesight compromised.
