BiographyHistory

Bernard Cronin was the first president of the Society of Australian Authors, holding the position from 1928-1934. He wrote some 30 novels in addition to plays and short stories. Cronin employed a number of pseudonyms. He used the name 'Eric North' for all of his Science Fiction writing and the name 'Stephen Grey' was used in association with Capel Boake (q.v.). Cronin also edited volumes by Elizabeth Powell and Arthur Upfield and wrote the lyrics for Mabel Down's song The North Wind [193-?].
