'Adi Asimovic knocks frantically on Maxine's door in the middle of the night. His daughter Vildana has not returned home and he hopes she is staying with Simone at Maxine's house. Realising both girls are missing, Maxine plays a phone message back and hears an hysterical cry for help. Bill and Charlie locate the cab driver who picked up the girls that night and, after much questioning, are given a description of a car that was in the area. The investigation takes a sharp turn when it turns out the car-owner's brother has a prison record for sexual assault and malicious wounding. Bill and Charlie follow a hunch and track down the suspects, Troy and Gavin Cunningham. News comes of the discovery of the body of a young woman. Bill and Charlie rush to the crime scene with Maxine and Adi in tow: they find Simone's handbag and ID, but the body is Vildana's. Maxine's nightmare has just begun, realising that her daughter has most likely suffered a similar fate. Bill breaks all the rules to make the suspects reveal where Simone is. He is obstructed by Troy's loyalty to his older brother Gavin, who has absconded. Bill senses that Gavin killed Vildana, and perhaps Simone as well. Bill and Charlie go to extraordinary measures to obtain a confession and try to get Gavin to concede Simone's whereabouts.'
