The traditional knowledge I talk about includes Creation Dreaming, bush lore, foods and healing, laws and punishment, spirituality and relationship to the land. Publisher's Note: There are many variations on the spelling of words within different Aboriginal languages. We have used the spellings of Aboriginal place names and spirits that best assist with correct pronunciation of these names. The term 'Uncle' is used to describe a man of wisdom and we have capitalised the 'Uncle' to show our respect for the role that an 'Uncle' has in his community.
Publisher's Note: Both the words 'lore' and 'law' are used throughout this book and have subtle differences in meaning. The term lore is used to suggest a set of customary practices, ways of living, storytelling and traditions. The word law refers to a body of rules that can be enforced. With Yuin lore there are laws that can be enforced.
