Josie Lockwood is engaged to Tom Raynor, nephew of Miss Miriam Isabel Montrose, the formidable Principal at the school where Josie teaches music. Josie and Tom have quarrelled and Josie's pride prevents her making up with him, until Miss Montrose speaks forcefully to her.
