Transcreations of poems by Afeif Ismail. 'Transcreation is an artistic reworking of a literal translation in conjunction with the original writer. Notes

  • Book launch - Sunday 15 November 2009, North Perth Town Hall, launched by Professor Dennis Haskell
  • Dedication: To the spirit of my dearest friend Sheila Jessop Blundell-Wignall: what a great and noble human soul! She was like a cloud, shading my family and myself from the hot summer’s day; she was always there for us. She removed from my way, spikes and shards of glass, from my blind steps on my new land. Just before she crossed to the other dimension, with her smile ever new, she looked deeply at my brown skinned face and took my features with her on her eternal journey.
