'Minnie George and I recorded this at Mt. Catt in February 1989 and I guess that she was already in her 70s. Unfortunately she did not live much longer and I could not read it back to her. She took great pleasure in telling her story in Kriol in a high and melodious voice with much expreesive elaboration. In translating I have tried to retain the flavour of Minnie's expression'.
