Untitledi"Subscribers were sleeping - the 'governor' weeping:", The Windmill Reporter , single work poetry humour

This untitled poem appeared as part of a humorous news 'report' on an anticipated flood of the Brisbane River, which was supposedly written by the Courier's 'Windmill Reporter' (ie. by a reporter stationed as a look-out on the Wickham Terrace windmill in Brisbane). In the poem the cash-strapped Courier reporter reflects on his editor's plight, and the precarious financial position of the newspaper at the time.
