AbstractHistoryArchive Description

In this book the author presents information from an Aboriginal perspective on the Aboriginal Kombumerri people of the Gold Coast and Beaudesert Region. In explaining tradition life, the author had included 'information from neighbouring Aboriginal clans who share the Yugambeh language as their customs and practices have been described as similar.' Notes

  • Dedication: This book is dedicated to my parents, Terrence Michael O'Connor and Patricia O'Connor (nee Yuke). My mother, among other achievements has been instrumental in helping to revitalise the traditional language of the Kombumerri people, the Yugambeh language, which was once considered lost. She also played a key role in establishing the Yugambeh Museum. My father, since his retirement, has devoted countless hours of his considerable and diverse talents to supporting mum and her work. For me he has also been an endless source of support and good humour.
