  • Christmas Number
  • Contains a half-page photograph of Katharine Susannah Prichard with her husband Captain Hugo Throssell and their young son. The accompanying caption reads: '...Katharine Susannah Prichard (Mrs Throssell) is the winner of the recent "Art in Australia" short story competition. She is a writer of great power and distinction, and has already published a number of books, one of which won the Hodder & Stoughton [1000 pound] prize. At present, she is busy with a new novel, "Working Bullocks", which she hopes to complete this year. Miss Prichard's story ['The Grey Horse'] will appear in the December number of "Art in Australia".' (p. 35)
  • Includes section, 'My Contemporaries', which comprises humorous biographical notes (by R. J. H. Moses) with accompanying caricatures (by Stan Cross, q.v.) of R. J. H. Moses, Arthur Adams, David McKee Wright, Adam McCay, Christopher Brennan and Monty Grover.
