  • A rewriting of 'Mystery and Murder' (from Author's note, The Year's Best Australian Science Fiction and Fantasy. Fourth Annual Volume, (2008): 119).

  • The central characters in this story, Madame la Duchesse Claudine Recherche Dubois and her cross-dressing (secretly female) secretary Pepin, previously appeared in Tansy Rayner Roberts's short story for the first issue of New Ceres, 'Scandal at the Feast of Saturn'.
