20 fantastic wonder stories from 20 writers of the fantastic, this anthology, the first from Ticonderoga Publications, was released to mark its 10th Anniversary. The collection features stories from some of Australia's rising stars and a handful of contributions from respected veterans.

Notes

  • Dedication: For Grant Stone and Peter McNamara who made all this, and so much more, possible.
  • Fantastic Wonder Stories was nominated for Best Collected Work at the 2007 Ditmars.

    'There Was Darkness' (Martin Livings) was nominated for an Australian Shadows Award.

    The anthology also saw five works nominated for 2007 Aurealis Awards: 'Lonely as Life" (Simon Brown) and 'Arctica' (Cat Sparks) for Best Science Fiction Short Story; and 'A Scar for Leida' (Deborah Biancotti - winner), 'Yamabushi Kaidan and the Smoke Dragon' (Shane Jiraiya Cummings) and 'Cast Off' (Tracey Rolfe) all for Best Young Adult Short Story.

    Biancotti's 'A Scar for Leida' was also nominated for that year's Ditmar Best Short Story award.
