Notes

  • Dedication: This book is for my parents and it now seems the right time to acknowledge the help of Ailsa, Annette, Agatha, Annabella, Agnes, Alice, Anthea, Angela, Adeline and Adelaide, the ten Merinos my father gave me that made it possible for me to go abroad.
  • Author's note: Whilst I have made every attempt to make my characterization of 'the English' true to life, I would like to avoid all libel and defamation actions - I haven't any money left and the sheep were sold anyway - by adding that the characters in this book are entirely fictitious.
