BiographyHistory

After studying at the University of Sydney, Lesley Rowlands spent four years travelling in the United Kingdom and Europe. The experiences of this time inspired her to write two popular books that humorously recount her travels, Why Can't the English? (1959) and On Top of the World (1961). In addition to these works, Rowlands also published a novel, A Bird in the Hand (1965), and wrote short stories.
