Epigraph : The Heroine of Conemaugh Valley.

Written following the Conemaugh Valley disaster in the United States. The poem was inspired by the story of Mrs Ogle, a telegraph operator, who remained at her post, warning those in the path of the floodwaters of the impending danger.
