A history of Jean Francois de Galaup, Count La Perouse, and his longest expedition, which left from Brest on 1st August 1785. After some hardship La Perouse arrived in Botany Bay. He left New South Wales on 7th February 1788 after sending a message to Captain Phillip saying he would go to Isle of France via the Gulf of Carpentaria and Van Diemen's land, but he never arrived.
