Current Publishing Practice 'is based on research into the Australian publishing industry up to September 2005. Having been produced in consultation with other industry groups, the paper places the publishing industry in an Australian and international cultural context. It addresses issues such as the distribution of publishing profits, the effect of cross-media and overseas ownership, and remuneration for authors. A comparison of contracts from a range of publishers is included.'
