  • A note in the Sydney Record 1.3 (1843): 20-21, states that 'Desrues' is 'said to have been written by Mr Allen, who holds or lately held the office of Mayor of the City of Adelaide, South Australia'. However, the Lord Mayor of Adelaide from 1842-1843 was definitely Thomas Wilson.
