BiographyHistory

Thomas Wilson was admitted to the Bar in England before migrating to Adelaide where he became the city's second mayor. He was also the author of Shakespeare Illustrated (1820).

The National Gallery of Australia Research Library has compiled Thomas Wilson : Miscellaneous Articles and Lectures (2002). Apparently Wilson's lectures and articles on engraving were published in South Australian journals such as the South Australian Register. Wilson was also the editor of the short-lived Adelaide Magazine (1845), and published separately, as a pamphlet, Eminent Female Artists: A Lecture, Read at the North Adelaide Institute on Tuesday, January 13, 1853 (1854).
