Bored with his life, Jim Thompson quits work as a clerk with ASIO after receiving a strange call from his friend, Ahmed, in Cairo. On his arrival in Cairo, Jim discovers that Ahmed has disappeared. While searching for clues Jim meets Julie Murray who is also looking for Ahmed. They are fired upon by what they believe are Islamic Fundamentalists. So begins a chase across Egypt with the PLO and an assassin after them.
