'Neos Kosmos is the largest and most influential Greek publication outside Greece. Established in 1957 by its pioneering co-founder Dimitri Gogos, it has been publishing and growing continuously since then. Sotiris Hatzimanolis is the Chief Editor of all publications and has been with Neos Kosmos for over 25 years. The Deputy Editor is Kostas Nikolopoulos and the Editor of Neos Kosmos English Edition is Argyris Argyropoulos.' The introduction quotes the Brief from the Department setting out the initial research objectives: 'The objective of the proposed pilot study is to identify the role that the ethnic press play in communicating with and reflecting the interests of individual ethnic communities, and its capacity to adapt to cultural, economic and other changes which significantly influence its readership and its own commercial viability' (p. 2).
