AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Bill the bilboa is found by Tom, a prospector on his way to Laverton, Western Australia. Tom entrusts the care of small animal to an artist called Tabitha. raised by a flower painter called Tabitha who takes him to Melbourne.

Notes

  • Based on the author's own experience, this book was inspired by a baby bilby which Rowan was given during a 1906 visit to the West Australian goldfields. The little creature, which Rowan named Bill Baillie, 'became her constant friend and travelling companion for several years'. (Source: Fullerton The Flower Hunter, 2002)
