AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Brewster reflects on her discovery that Coonardoo was based on families who were ancestors of Doris Pilkington and that Prichard's novel was set in the same time period as the events depicted in Pilkington's Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence. Brewster contrasts the depiction of Aboriginal people's lives in the two works.
